Corporate Responsibility

For Salcomp, corporate responsibility means observing the principles of sustainable development and the ethics of international competition in its activities. Unifying responsibility-related practices across the company, the Group-wide Code of Conduct was implemented in 2008. In addition, Salcomp implemented the E-TASC tool for developing corporate responsibility issues and entered into cooperation with the international charity organization Hand in Hand in India.

Corporate responsibility is basedon common guidelines

Responsible operations at Salcomp are based on compliance with both international and national laws and regulations, as well as respect for international human rights and employees’ rights.

As part of the harmonization of Salcomp’s practices, at the beginning of 2008, group-wide Code of Conduct guidelines were launched. Responsible partnership as aimwith all interest groups

Salcomp aims to be a reliable and responsible partner with all interest groups.

Customers and customer satisfaction are the basis of all Salcomp operations. Salcomp aims to improve the customer satisfaction by continued development and improvement of company processes and procedures.

In order to improve the cooperation with customers in corporate responsibility issues, Salcomp has joined E-TASC (Electronics – Tool for Accountable Supply Chains) during 2008. E-TASCis a web-based tool that allows the member companiesto enhance the management, reporting and development of corporate responsibility issues. It enables the saving of time and resources, as well as improves  transparency, consistency and cooperation with partners. Salcomp has used the tool to standardise its assessment procedures related to the environment, personnel, health and safety, and ethics.

Salcomp is a significant purchaser of raw materials, components and services: in 2008, Salcomp purchased approximately 15 billion components. Salcomp aims to use only suppliers who are committed to following ethical operating methods and legislation. This is monitored by visits to suppliers and auditing. In order to enhance the cooperation, Salcomp organizes annual Supplier Days, and in 2008 the event was held in May in Shenzhen, China.

Salcomp is a significant local player in China, Brazil and India. As an employer, Salcomp recognizes its responsibility for developing social issues especially in those geographical areas where Salcomp has production. Regular and open cooperation with local authorities and other local communities ensures that both parties benefit from the operations.

Personnel is one of Salcomp’s most important interest groups. Through cooperation and  ommunication, Salcomp aims to increase motivation, skills and commitment to common goals among its personnel.
